Double Shield TBM - A LOVAT Double Shield TBM consists of a
Cuttinghead, Forward Shell, Telescopic Shield (Inner and Outer), Gripper Shield
and a Trailing Shield. The Double Shield is specifically designed for excavating
rock with fractured zones where a primary lining is required. In competent rock
it is capable of simultaneous excavation and segment erection.
Gripper Shield TBM - The Gripper Shield LOVAT TBM consists
of a Cuttinghead, Forward Shell, Telescopic Shield (Inner and Outer), Gripper
Shield and a Trailing Finger Shield which covers the top 120º of the tunnel.
The LOVAT Double Shield and Gripper Shield TBMs are available in a full range
of diametres from 3 metres to 15 metres.
