SALES ADVISOR, SPARE PARTS

Reporting to the Field Service Manager, the Sales Advisor, Spare Parts will be primarily responsible for the following key functions:
-Respond to all client and agent after sales inquires for TBM components and assemblies in an efficient and timely manner.
-Recommend complimenting components or assemblies based on site or TBM requirements to improve overall customer satisfaction.
-Confirm part accuracy, costs, and lead times by working with various departments within the company and by using ERP software systems.
-Prepare recommended spare parts lists, as per engineering criteria and contractual obligations for all manufactured and refurbished TBMs.
-Prepare and process quotations and sales orders and submit them to the Field Service Manager for review and approval.
-Issue quotes and sales orders to clients and agents ensuring that all requirements have been met.
-Ensure that confirmed orders are properly processed, planned, and expedited as required to meet promised delivery dates by:
-Overseeing the routing of orders within the company ERP system from the point of inventory control through to the shipping of the goods (INCO terms).
-Ensure that all manufactured spare parts are signed off for quality as per ISO standards prior to spare parts orders being shipped.
-Advise customers and agents of completion of orders.
-Maintain accurate and detailed records for all inquires, quotations, and sales orders as per ISO procedures.
-Ensure quality service is given towards all customer spare parts orders and maintain excellent client relations.


The ideal candidate will possess the following:

-A College diploma in Business Management or Business Administration is desirable.
-A minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role.
-Proven experience in a customer service environment.
-Proficient in MS Office (Word and Excel).
-Strong organizational and communication skills.
-Detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
-Fluent in a second language (Spanish and/or Russian) considered an asset. 

 

JUNIOR INDUSTRIAL ENGINEER

Reporting to the Industrial Engineer, the Junior Industrial Engineer will be primarily responsible for the following key functions:
-Study time, motion, methods, and speed involved in maintenance, production and other operations to establish standard production rate and improve efficiency.
-Observe workers operating equipment or performing tasks to determine time involved and fatigue rate using timing devices.
-Recommend methods for improving utilization of personnel, material and utilities.
-Interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confer with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
-Prepare charts, graphs, and diagrams to illustrate workflow, routing, floor layouts, material handling, and machine utilization.
-Plan and establish sequence of operations to fabricate and assemble parts or products and to promote efficient utilization.
-Draft and design layout of equipment, materials, and workplace to maximize material flow efficiency.
-Analyze manufacturing systems (costing, capacity, planning, work flow, scheduling, material storage, work standardization and work instructions).
-Develop manufacturing systems and procedures to implement lean principles.
-Perform gap analysis and identify required training resources to develop skill base for manufacturing.
-Analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine quality and reliability objectives, resulting in reduced production problems, and overall cost while maximizing product reliability.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

-A Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
-A minimum 3 to 5 years of experience.
-Strong knowledge of engineering specifications.
-Experience in a design and manufacturing environment with customized fabrication, welding, machine shop, electrical and assembly practices.
-Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
-Knowledge in lean principles, material flow, quality and production feedback systems.
-Demonstrate proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD and Solid Works) and Microsoft.
-Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills.
-Sound judgment and analytical approach to problem solving.

 

MECHANICAL DESIGN MANAGER

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Mechanical Design Manager will be primarily responsible for the following key functions:-Responsible for overseeing the mechanical design of the TBM forward structure and components including: Cuttinghead, Forward Shell, Main Drive, Rotary Fluid Joint, Airlock, & Muck Ring.
-Review and approval of design and detailed drawings of above mentioned TBM components, assemblies and accessories.
-Review and approval of formal calculations or FEA reports to substantiate or qualify designs.
-Coordinate departmental designs with other engineering departments to ensure interdepartmental functionality and technical specification compliance.
-Creation of formal Technical Reports as required.
-Participate in the creation of project schedules and maintain the established design and engineering schedules in support of the project and manufacturing requirements.
-Establish group cost savings initiatives and continued value-engineering programs.
-Responsible to maintain sufficient staffing levels to support current and planned business levels.
-Responsible for annual employee reviews and salary recommendations subject to departmental budgetary constraints.
-In conjunction with the Engineering Manager will be responsible for the career development of all employees within the department.
-Responsible for the review and implementation of the departmental budget.
-Provide technical support to Field Service, Sales, Procurement, Production and Project Management as required.
-Research applicable codes or standards related to design compliance and ensure their implementation to support the scope of project.
-Ensure that all ISO and safety policies are known and followed at all times.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

-A Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering accompanied by previous management experience.
-A Licensed Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario.
-Demonstrated Leadership skills within a technical design environment.
-Knowledge of solid mechanics related to weldment design and analysis including bolted/pinned structures.
-Knowledge of FEA principals and techniques and ability to review design load cases, boundary conditions, applied loads and interpret computed results.
-Knowledge of material properties and their behavior under static, dynamic and cyclical loads.
-Knowledge of the application of standard mechanical shapes and their behavior under loading.
-Knowledge of bearing types and applications with a thorough understanding of the operating principals and limit of application.
-Knowledge of bearing and gear design parameters and calculation methods related to physical applications and service life.
-Knowledge of material inspection techniques including those required for material harness, surface finish and material integrity.
-Strong background in the development and creation of empirical calculations related to complex designs and applications.
-Knowledge of standard ISO detailing practices and drawing layouts including complex assembly hierarchies and BOM presentation.
-Knowledge of GD&T and limit & fits and their application as related to the limitations of standard equipment and manufacturing processes.
-Knowledge of metal working and forming practices including milling, turning, grinding, heat treatment, surface preparation, profile cutting, gear and spline cutting, etc.
-Proficient in AutoCAD 2002 or later version.  Previous experience or working knowledge of 3D parametric design.

 

ELECTRICAL DESIGN ENGINEER

Reporting to the Electrical Design Manager, the candidate will be primarily responsible for the following key
functions:
-Responsible for the technical design content of Electrical Bill of Materials for new and rebuild machine projects.
-Responsible for the selection of appropriate equipment technology for a given process and evaluate various economic options.
-Maintenance of database for Electrical Bill of Materials and assemblies.
-Responsible for the design of basic power and control systems for new and rebuild machines.
-Preparation and review of design specifications.
-Design of substations including physical layout, protection and control, equipment specifications.
-System studies for short circuit analysis, time-current coordination, motor starting, harmonics reduction, grounding analysis and load flow.
-Issue and review purchase requisitions of items required for the fabrication or support of the TBM.
-Preparation and review of CAD drawings of all schematics and diagrams related to electrical.
-Development of specifications for PLC programs.
-PLC programming and HMI development.
-Responsible for technical design content of reports and documentation to support operating manuals.
-Coordinate the efforts of technical support staff, which includes other designers, drafters, and other support personnel allocated under his/her overall direction by the Electrical Design Manager.
-Coordinate plant production with Electrical foreman.
-Assist with technical recommendations for control and technologies issues.
-Training of electrical personnel on new systems and installations.
-Assist with plant maintenance and plant production.
-In conjunction with the Electrical Design Manager will be responsible for project schedules and prepare overall project impact summaries.
-Support field service, including troubleshooting, reliability and performance issues.
-Research applicable codes or standards related to design compliance to support the scope of project.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

-An Electrical Engineering Degree accompanied by a minimum of 5 years of experience.
-Applicant must have a controls and power systems design background.
-Process control and industrial network experience are required, this includes Control Logix, DeviceNet, ControlNet and Industrial EtherNet.
-Incumbant must be proficient in PLC programming software, RS Logix 5000.
-Software development skills in RSView 32 or Vijeo.
-Proficient in AutoCAD or similar electrical design software.
-Must possess strong computer skills and fundamental understanding of network structures and diagnosis.
-Be able to layout control architecture and document the functional processes.
-Knowledge of Low Voltage (380/480/600V) power distribution and motor control is essential.
-Must possess basic understanding of Variable Speed Drive Systems and installations.
-Ability to perform power systems calculations, short circuit current analysis and power quality.
-Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills with the ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents.
-A good understanding of electrical assembly, installations and machine commissioning processes.
-Experience with ePlan design software.
-Database proficiency with MS Access and/or SQL.
-Programming skills in RSLogix 5 and 500, Seimens Step 7.
-Project leadership skills are desirable.
